Down star Murtagh hit with 12-week ban

Down football player Ronan Murtagh will miss 12 weeks of action including the championship opener against Cavan after being hit with a lengthy ban.

The sentence was handed down by the GAC for a striking offence during Down's recent NFL clash with Antrim at Casement Park.
