Victory down to hard work - Morrissey
Newtownshandrum boss Pat Morrissey says his side's All-Ireland club hurling final win was a victory for "sheer hard work".
“It's an example to all of what can be achieved by sheer hard work and dedication, we have both in abundance," reflected Morrissey after their defeat of Dunloy.
“A group like these come along maybe once in a lifetime so it's important to get the best out of them and we certainly did."
Meanwhile, Dunloy manager Sean McLean cut a downbeat figure as his side completely underperformed at Croke Park.
“I don't know what went wrong," said McLean. "Nerves? Well, they were as relaxed as I've ever seen them beforehand. Half of the team played the others just didn't.
“Our backs were brilliant, couldn't fault them, but our forwards? Fourteen wides! We've always had scoring forwards, but it just didn't work out for them today.”
