Newtownshandrum lead at half-time

Cork club Newtownshandrum are on course for their first ever AIB Club hurling title as they lead last year's runners-up Dunloy 0-7 to 0-2 at half time in the Croke Park sun.

Cork wing forward Ben O'Connor is ruling the roost with six points, four from frees, despite the Munster champions having conceded the first point to Antrim forward Colm McGuckian after 40 seconds.

O'Connor has his low free on 32 minutes tapped over by Dunloy goalkeeper Gareth Magee to end the half's scoring with Alan T O'Brien Newtownshandrum's only other scorers.

Dunloy have hit six wides, with fit-again Liam Richmond hitting their second point on 21 minutes.
