Clare keeper Fitzgerald gets eight week ban
Clare hurling star Davy Fitzgerald has been hit with an eight week ban that will rule him of the remainder of the National League campaign.
The top stopper, who doubles as Limerick IT boss, was reprimanded by the GAC for branding referee Pat Horan 'a disgrace' during the college's semi-final defeat to UCC in the Fitzgibbon Cup this month.
The news comes as a hammer blow to Clare chief Anthony Daly ahead of tomorrow's clash with neighbours Galway though the Sixmilebridge man will be available for the championship.
