Donegal remain unbeaten in Division 2A

Donegal are still unbeaten in Division 2A after substitute Brian McLaughlin’s injury time point saw them 0-12 to 0-11 winners against Roscommon at Hyde Park this afternoon.

Their fourth win of the campaign, aided by a man-of-the-match performance from Brian Roper and just two second half points from Tommy Carr’s men, sees them head Roscommon and Offaly, who enjoyed a four-point win over Clare, by two points at the table’s summit.

Roscommon will be bitterly disappointed, having led by 0-9 to 0-5 at the break and missed goal chances through the likes of Frankie Dolan, Gary Cox and Karl Mannion (0-4).

Points from Colm McFadden, Brendan Devenney, Roper and Christy Toye saw Donegal level the game with two minutes remaining before McLoughlin sent over the winning point.

Alan McNamee’s 4th minute net buster helped the Faithfuls to a 1-11 to 0-10 win over Clare in Tullamore.

The visitors ended the game with 14 men after Noel Griffin was sent off in stoppage time for his second booking.

In the early kick off in Clones, as substitute Tom Freeman coming on after 18 minutes to help visitors Monaghan to a 0-7 to 0-3 half time lead against London.

Freeman combined well with Nicholas Corrigan after the break to see out the 0-15 to 0-9 win.

Leitrim earned their second win of the campaign at Carrick-on-Shannon as Pat Farrell (0-2) helped them first into a 0-6 to 0-4 lead, and then saw Pat Hickey goal on 23 minutes for the visitors.

Brendan Brennan struck in the second half to ensure a 1-10 to 1-8 Leitrim win.
