Decies fight back to reel in Laois

Waterford 0-25 Laois 3-11

Despite conceding two goals in the seventh minute, Waterford fought back to record their second win of the NHL campaign at Walsh Park.

Laois, thanks to goals from Liam Tynan and Damien Culleton, led at half-time by 2-6 to 0-11.

Waterford conceded a third goal to Culleton inside 60 seconds of the restart. Points from Paul Flynn, Dave Bennett and John Mullane (2) had the Decies on parity by the three-quarter hour.

A brilliant point from Dan Shanahan gave Waterford the lead in the 52nd minute, a lead they never lost.

Outstanding scores from Shanahan, Seamus Prendergast, Mullane, Flynn and sub Jack Kennedy ensured Waterford remain unbeaten.
