Farrell: GPA getting overwhelming interest from players

Gaelic Players Association chief Dessie Farrell has reported phenomenal interest in the players' group in recent times.

Gaelic Players Association chief Dessie Farrell has reported phenomenal interest in the players' group in recent times.

The GPA's AGM takes place 'at a midlands venue' in April and between now and then Farrell will take his association on the road for a series of provincial meetings.

Farrell said: "Player solidarity and unity has scaled new heights through the forum of the GPA."

Meanwhile, the GPA have revealed the members of their new provincial setups.

Ulster Committee: Benny Tierney (Armagh), Mark McEntee (Cavan hurling), Brian McFall, (Antrim hurling), and Peter Canavan (Tyrone).

Leinster Committee: Donnacha Callan (Louth hurling) David Mitchell (Westmeath), Brendan O hAnnaidh (Wicklow) and Brian Whelahan (Offaly).
