Tipp's Browne shines in Division Two
Tipperary’s Declan Browne undoubtedly put in the performance of the day in Division 2B as he claimed a haul of 0-12, with eight points from play, in his side’s facile 0-17 to 1-12 win over Waterford.
In Division 2A, Donegal scored two second half goals through Adrian Sweeney and Brendan Devenney, his second in consecutive games, for their second win of the campaign, defeating Leitrim 2-10 to 1-05, having been two points in front at half time in Cloone.
The day’s early kick-off failed to rattle Offaly sufficiently although London were level with them in Tullamore with 17 minutes to play.
Corner forward Niall McNamee goaled in the final quarter to earn the home side a 1-13 to 1-08 win.
Monaghan earned their first win of the campaign as three first half goals from brothers Damien (2) and Thomas Freeman helped them on their way to a 4-09 to 0-12 defeat of Clare.
Wicklow earned their second win of Division 2B under new boss Hugh Kenny, 1-5 to Down’s 0-08 in Aughrim, while there were also wins for Derry (0-20 to 1-07 against Louth), and Kildare followed up on their surprise win against Derry last weekend with a two-point win in Antrim, 1-10 to 1-08.
