Comerford likely to captain Cats again in 2004

Former All-Ireland winning hurling skipper Andy Comerford is set to regain his captain's armband, according to speculation in Kilkenny.

Former All-Ireland winning hurling skipper Andy Comerford is set to regain his captain's armband, according to speculation in Kilkenny.

Comerford lifted the McCarthy Cup in 2002 but suffered from injury and a loss of form in 2003 before leading O'Loughlin Gaels to a first ever Leinster club title late in the year.

Now it looks likely that he'll be handed the county armband again though Cats boss Brian Cody won't want a repeat of last year's shambles when Charlie Carter got the armband but quit because of a lack of first team opportunities.
