Guiney boycotts Wexford holiday in protest
Veteran Wexford hurling star Dave Guiney has sensationally opted out of the county's trip to San Francisco because partners and wives aren't allowed to accompany the players.
The Wexford panel are already Stateside and Guiney's absence has raised eyebrows.
He said: "I am married with three young children and was only able to commit because my wife Brenda took my share of the responsibilities at home.
"I hope by forfeiting my holiday I will give others the courage to stand up against a similar decision.
"The least we can expect in the future is recognition for all contributors to our games."
