Mayo defied the wishes of the ladies football board by sticking with Azzuri in the All-Ireland semi-final and finals despite a bulk deal being signed for all teams by the association with O'Neills.

Mayo were hit with a €22,000 fine for disobeying the orders and have been furthered angered by the estimated loss of between 300 and 350 jersey sales as a result of pulling them from the market.
