Coffey rules out Wicklow return

Rathnew's Ronan Coffey has made it clear he won't return to county football while Donal McGillycuddy remains as county board chairman.

County official McGillycuddy led Wicklow to an All-Ireland junior title last year but has not got the full support of Coffey or, allegedly, a number of other top senior players.

Coffey said: "I won’t be playing for Wicklow while Donal McGillycuddy remains on as chairman. If there is a change of chairman at next month’s county convention I would be delighted to go back."
