O'Keeffe to step back from county football

Out-going International Rules manager John O'Keefe is to take a break from inter-county football following spells with a number of Munster outfits.

O'Keefe stood down from the Ireland management team following their aggregate defeat at the weekend Down Under and will now take a break after roles back home with Limerick, Clare and Kerry.

O'Keefe said: "I have made up my mind to stay clear. I am not going to get involved with any counties. I'll take two years out and who knows after that."
