St Brigids win Dublin title
St Brigids 0-17, Kilmacud Crokes 1-8
St Brigids claimed their first ever Dublin SFC title at a canter as the Gallagher brothers, Rory and Ray, ran amok to see off favourites Kilmacud Crokes at Parnell Park.
Paddy Clarke's side were good value for their win right across the pitch and had stars in the Gallaghers, as well as Dublin U-21 duo Declan Lally and John Noonan.
Brigids led 0-4 to 0-3 after 19 minutes and hit 0-7 in nine minutes to open up a 0-11 to 0-3 interval lead.
It appeared that Kilmacud were dead and buried but amazingly they had the margin down to just two points when a rapid fire 1-4 left them back in it at 1-7 to 0-12 by the 43rd minute.
However, Brigids always looked calm under the pressure and Ray Gallagher, who finished the championship with 2-13 to his credit, kickstarted a scoring spree that pulled Brigids back into it and saw them over the line with eight points to spare.
