Laois triumph in minor final replay
Laois 2-10 Dublin 1-9
A goal in each half helped Laois to Minor Football Championship glory in Carlow today.
Laois, playing against a stiff wind, were ahead within the first five minutes as Donie Brennan found the net.
Dublin got back into it but failed to capitalise on the wind advantage and trailed 1-4 to 0-6 at half-time.
Keeper Ciaran Walsh kept the Dubs in the game just after the break when he saved a Colm Kelly penalty.
Dublin stayed in touch until 45 minutes when Kelly made no mistake in finding the net to give Laois a 2-7 to 0-7 lead.
The Blues' did rally late on but their comeback came too late and Laois won by a comfortable four points.
