Dubs refuse to accept controversial ad

Dublin's Leinster Council delegate Jim Roche has refused to accept the explanation for the controversial ad taken out by the provincial council in the Leinster Express last Sunday.

The Leinster council wished the Laois minor team the best of luck in a controversial ad ahead of their All-Ireland final meeting with another Leinster side, Dublin, at Croke Park.

Council chairman Nicky Brennan said it was a "hurricane in a tea cup", but Roche said: "I have asked them to issue an apology to Dublin. I'm sure that it was an error on their part, but I'd still hope that they would apologise."
