Offaly captain dismisses strike talk

Skipper Cathal Daly has dismissed suggestions that the Offaly footballers are on the verge of strike action following the controversial sacking of former boss Paul O'Kelly.

A significant group of Offaly players met over the weekend to discuss issues regarding team preparation and will present them to their county board but Daly refused to entertain talk of a strike.

Daly said: "We're not going to say a lot until we have the meeting with our county board, that's what we agreed. We're not looking for mad things and there'll be no strike if people think that's what we're about."
