Kennelly on his way home to recover

Aussie Rules hero and former Kerry football player Tadhg Kennelly is set to arrive back in Ireland within the week after undergoing surgery to correct a double groin injury.

Kennelly, who helped the Sydney Swans to the AFL preliminary finals this month, will now miss out on Ireland's International Rules tests against the Aussies on October 24 and 31.

Kennelly said: "Everyone knows it cuts me in two not to be able to play for Kerry so to miss out on this as well is devastating. I'll come home and help John O'Keeffe but it won't be the same."
