Limerick hurling boss gets the boot
Limerick hurling has been rocked by the removal of manager Dave Keane and his selectors following a county board meeting tonight.
Keane, and selectors John Meskell and Dave Punch who coached the county to three consecutive under-21 titles were voted out by a three-quarters majority.
The management team were a year into a two-year contract, but ill feeling had grown in the county after player walkouts and rumours of trouble in the camp had persisted since he took over from Eamon Cregan.
The side had suffered a poor league campaign and were knocked out of the championship by Offaly.
