Down hurling boss O'Reilly resigns
Respected Down hurling manager Jimmy O'Reilly has quit his position in a surprising development leaving the Mourne County with a big pair of boots to fill.
O'Reilly, part of the GAA's Hurling Development Committee, led Down to three Ulster titles but tendered his resignation at the weekend prompting immediate praise from county chairman Eamonn O'Toole.
O'Toole said: "Jimmy brought a new dimension to preparation of teams and got the utmost out of a limited panel of players. He has built a solid foundation which should bring good rewards in the future."
