Inter Rules training squad to be cut

Ireland selector Martin Carney has revealed that the International Rules training panel will be cut from 40 to 28 after a trial game in Dublin tomorrow night.

The tour Down Under has taken on an added emphasis with news that the first test at the Subiaco Bowl in Perth on October 24 is a 43,000 sell out.

Irish boss John O'Keeffe wants to whittle down his squad to a manageable level in the run up to the game and Carney said: "It is not fair to keep guys there if they are not in the running to make the final squad."
