Offaly football secretary resigns in protest

Offaly football secretary Jim Buckley has resigned from his position in protest at the controversial axing of senior football manager Paul O'Kelly just eight months after he was appointed.

Offaly football appears to be in turmoil with players disgusted that they weren't informed while Buckley was in America when a review committee was appointed to assess O'Kelly's reign to date.

Buckley lashed: "In the two weeks I was out there (USA), the whole thing was done. If I am the official from the county board involved in football for the last six years, I felt the review could have waited for two weeks.”
