Branded hurls trio to escape suspension

Wexford's Damien Fitzhenry and Paul Codd and Cork's Seán Óg Ó hAilpín are unlikely to face suspensions for brandishing branded hurls - until the Championship is over.

The Games Administration Committee is meeting tomorrow night, but will not be discussing the matter of sponsored hurleys witnessed during Sunday's drawn epic between the counties.

However, Paddy Power bookmakers - who paid the players €750 each to use the sponsored hurls - are still in the GAA's sights, and the firm have been told by the Association to relinquish their corporate box at Croke Park.
