Carr takes victory from defeat

Roscommon boss Tommy Carr admitted his side's Croke Park mauling at the hands of Kerry had brought an end to an otherwise impressive year.

Roscommon found themselves just 70 minutes from the last four of the championship and despite a heavy defeat to All-Ireland favourites Kerry, Carr was happy with the progress.

Carr said: "To be quite honest, the players exceeded my expectations. The team has taken a huge step. They have learned a huge amount and got a taste for success."
