Roscommon/Kildare go to extra-time

A last minute point from forward Frankie Dolan has given Roscommon an extra-time life line at O'Moore Park.

Having lead 0-8 to 0-7 at the break, the Connacht side allowed Kildare to come back into the game with fine scores from Padraig Brennan (0-4) and Tadhg Fennin (0-2).

Substitute John Tiernan scored a goal to keep Roscommon alive in the 48th minute, seven minutes before midfielder Seamus O'Neill was dismissed for his second bookable offence.

Roscommon led after the hour mark 1-10 to 0-12 but Kildare gradually chipped after at that lead and had a one point lead themselves into injury time.

Stephen Lohan saw a goal shot brilliantly smothered by Enda Murphy on 67 minutes before Dolan pointed from under the right stand side to bring matters to extra-time at 0-15 to 1-12.
