McEvoy follows Carter into retirement

The Kilkenny county board has confirmed that Brian McEvoy has retired.

The Kilkenny county board has confirmed that Brian McEvoy has retired.

He follows the Black and Ambers' 2003 senior hurling captain Charlie Carter.

Both players, former AllStars who came on as subs in last year's All-Ireland final, are believed to be disillusioned at being unable to command starting places on the team.
