Underfire Clare stalwart Seanie McMahon is pleading his innocence following Sunday's controversial dismissal against Tipperary.

Underfire Clare stalwart Seanie McMahon is pleading his innocence following Sunday's controversial dismissal against Tipperary.

Clare won the Munster SHC clash but the bad news was McMahon's red card for appearing to strike Tipp's Conor Gleeson in the face.

McMahon said: "I would never hit another player intentionally. I met Conor Gleeson outside the ground afterwards and we shook hands. He said that he knew it wasn't intentional."
