Kildare will definitely be without AllStar midfielder Dermot Earley for Sunday's Leinster SFC opener with Longford in Mullingar.

The Sarsfields man has yet to recover from a recurrence of a foot injury while on college duty last February.

Elsewhere, Padraig Brennan is struggling with a groin strain ahead of the clash at Cusack Park.
