Laois return to winning ways against Wexford

Laois shook off their league hangover to return to Croke Park with a bang and Wexford felt the full force in the Leinster SFC preliminary round.

Star man Ross Munnelly shot Laois into an early lead and two more points from him saw them lead 1-7 to 0-6 at half-time, Ian Fitzgerald hitting the net after 11 minutes.

Wexford hinted at a fight-back at times and Leigh O'Brien, Matty Forde and John Hegarty were impressive.

But with Brian McDonald hitting five second-half points and Noel Garvan leading by example the result was never in doubt.
