Sligo boss Fitzmaurice quits

Sligo hurling boss Paudie Fitzmaurice has resigned following a questioning of his team selection.

The news will come as a serious blow to hurling in the county as former Limerick star Fitzmaurice appeared to be building a strong team for the future.

Ironically, it was that youthful approach which was questioned when minor county board chairman Michael Donnellan complained that too many minors were being picked on the senior panel.
