The experienced defender played for Dublin in a challenge game against Kerry last Saturday night but subsequently picked up the injury in a club game which was played on Monday.

The St Brigid's man sustained the career-threatening injury in the second half of his club's 4-6 to 1-12 win over Ballinteer St John's.
