Sligo fight back for the spoils

Cavan 1-12 Sligo 1-16

A dramatic second-half recovery saw Sligo cruise to victory and end Cavan's hope of a league semi-final spot at Breffni Park.

Leading 1-8 to 1-6 at half-time, Cavan were reeled in by a succession of converted frees from Sligo's Dessie Sloyan, 0-7 for the game.

The sides were eventually leve at 1-12 a piece by the 60th minute. But despite a late siege from Cavan, Sligo edged it with points from Eamonn O'Hara, Noel McGuire and Paul Taylor.
