Tribesmen stay alive by beating Waterford
Galway 2-17 Waterford 2-13
This hard-earned victory at Pierce Stadium, Galway, keeps the home county's league hopes alive but they were pushed all the way by Waterford who are now out of the running for further progress.
First half goals by Ollie Fahy for the Tribesmen and Andy Moloney set up a 1-8 to 1-6 lead for Galway who had Diarmaid Cloonan sent off for an incident with Ken McGrath who was also red carded.
Fahy and Moloney also netted in the second half but Galway finished the stronger and deserved this vital win which strengthens their Top Three chances.
