Maughan calls time on role at Crossmolina

John Maughan has resigned as Crossmolina manager following the club's All-Ireland final defeat to Nemo Rangers.

Maughan doubles as Mayo manager and has called time on his dual role in the wake of the shattering one point defeat.

Maughan said: "You could be beaten in the first round of your county championship.

"Ask me, would I rather be beaten here on All-Ireland final day in Croke Park than in a county final - I'd rather be here."
