Foreign sports manufacturers may enter market

A motion will be submitted to next month's Congress calling for foreign gear manufacturers to be allowed enter the GAA market.

Already, Waterford and Armagh based companies Azzuri and Gaelic Gear have broken the stranglehold enjoyed by O'Neill's.

But the Lancashire divisional board has called for a change to the rule that companies must be based in Ireland.

This may pave the way for global giants Nike and Adidas to tender bids.
