Nolan's worries grow as Kildare docked points
Kildare team manager Padraig Nolan's worries continue to pile up as the Lillywhites have been docked two-point after fielding substitutes who were not registered properly.
Sligo have been given the points for the match despite losing.
Now Kildare face Mayo at Ballina on Sunday with further problems piling up. .
Brian Lacey has a one-month ban while the latest injury casualty is Castlemitchell forward Tadhg Fennin, who picked up a calf muscle injury in training on Tuesday night.
Also on the injured list is veteran attacker Eddie McCormack, whose hand injury picked up against Sligo has proven more serious than at first anticipated.
It now appears that the Clane forward has fractured a bone in his hand and will not take part in any of the remaining NFL games.
On the credit side it seems that the foot injury sustained by former Allstar Dermot Earley is not as serious as at first though.
The Army man may well be back in training in six weeks or so. With a number of players also involved in the Sigerson Cup competition this week, Kildare will delay selection for the Mayo game until Friday at the earliest.
