Donegal side reinstated in championship

Donegal football champions St Eunan's have been reinstated in the county championship after a protracted legal battle that ended in an arbitration ruling.

Eunan's were alleged to have fielded an ineligible player in their championship clash with Ardara with the latter claiming Sligo man Eddie Brennan shouldn't have played.

A statement from St Eunan's read: "We have always maintained that Eddie Brennan was entitled to transfer to our club, as he was resident in Letterkenny."

Meanwhile, Ardara have reacted with amazement to the reinstatement of St Eunan's.

A statement from the club said: "It is quite obvious to the club at this stage, that any club who have the financial backing, will in future be able to flaunt the rules as they see fit.

"As It is now obvious that the GAA will run scared from Clubs who go outside the association to fight their case. The official guide seems to be obsolete as and from February 15."
