Roscommon fight back to defeat Cork
Roscommon 1-12 1-11 Cork
A dramatic fightback by Roscommon at Dr Hyde Park today earned them two valuable Division 1A League points as they defeated Cork 1-12 to 1-11.
Roscommon, who trailed at the interval 0-09 to 0-06, looked down and out when Michael O’Croinin blasted into the net within three minutes of the restart.
Cork added another point through Brendan Ger O’Sullivan but then saw their performance disintegrate and they were not to register another score until O’Sullivan scored in the final minute.
At that stage their seven point lead had been long eroded with Roscommon substitute, Ciaran Lynch, setting up his side’s victory with a goal eleven minutes from the end.
That goal was followed by points from Gary Cox, Gerry Lohan and Lynch as Roscommon, inspired by man-of-the-match Frankie Dolan, crossed the winning line deservedly.
