Tyrone topple the Tribesmen

Owen Mulligan and Frank McGuigan ripped through the Galway defence to inspire defending champions Tyrone to their first NFL win of the season at Pomeroy.

Four points each from the twin destroyers delighted a big Plunkett Park crowd, and convinced John O'Mahony that his emerging stars are not yet ready to take over from absent friends such as Padraig Joyce, Kevin Walsh and Michael Donnellan.

Dooher, McGuigan and Mulligan kicked spectacular scores, while Galway's desperate hunt for a goal almost paid off, but only produced late points from Joyce and substitute Derry O'Brien.
