Laois remain unbeaten in an exciting match
Laois footballers maintained their 100% record at Port Laoise today securing victory with a goal three minutes from full-time by substitute Barry Brennan.
Laois were the dominate side in the opening half - three points each from Ian Fitzgerald and Damian Delaney saw them lead 0-9 to 0-6 at the interval.
Kieren Donnelly and Ronan McCabe were the chief marksmen for the visitors, on the changeover Laois introduced substitute Donal Miller for the out-of-form Damian Delaney and he was to play a major role.
Ten minutes into the second half Laois led by five points and the game looked as good as over but a point from Rory Gallagher and a well taken goal by Declan O'Reilly narrowed the gap to a single point.
The sides were level ten minutes from time and Ryan Keenan kicked a fine point for Fermanagh.
Donal Miller regained the lead for Laois five minutes from time but a Ronan McCabe point levelled matters again, then Laois produced the move of the match. Brian McDonald placed substitute David Sweeney, he in turn found another substitute Barry Brenan, who crashed the ball into the Fermanagh net.
Laois now travel to Ballinrobe on Sunday next to take on unbeaten Mayo in a top of the tables clash.
