Dublin selector says politics got him the axe

Axed Dublin selector Nicky Kehoe has hit out at the "political" decision to removed him from Marty Morris' backroom team.

Kehoe is a Sinn Fein councillor and was removed this week as a third selector in what was labelled a numbers mix up.

Kehoe lashed: "Dublin hurling has to take centre stage, but I feel there are elements within the county board that need to de-commission their mindset."

Meanwhile, Morris has named his team to face Kilkenny in Sunday's Walsh Cup final at Parnell Park with Kevin Ryan returning and Fergal Armstrong dropping out.

Dublin (SH v Kilkenny): B McLoughlin; K Elliott, D Spain, C Meehan; K Wilson, L Ryan, S Hiney; K Ryan, C Keaney; S McDonnell, K O¹Donoghue, T Moore; S Martin, K Horgan, K Flynn.
