Kerry star dismisses league win

Ace Kerry corner-forward Mike Frank Russell has revealed that the Kingdom's Div 2 League win counted for nothing in the wake of their All-Ireland upset.

Kerry were beaten by Armagh in a surprise All-Ireland final loss and Russell, who played in that league win over Laois in Limerick, said: "The bottom line is that we won a Division Two league title but that counts for nothing in Kerry.

"The Armagh game was the be all and end all for us. Unfortunately we blew it in the final and so in all respects 2002 was a disaster for us."
