Lyons not interested in Gallagher

Dublin senior football manager Tommy Lyons has laughed off suggestions that he's to swoop for Fermanagh's Rory Gallagher.

Rumours had been abound that Gallagher was being primed for an inter-county transfer to Dublin from Fermanagh.

Gallagher has already moved to Dublin club side St Brigids but Lyons said: "Dublin are not in the business of taking weaker counties' best players."

Meanwhile, a successor to Kevin Fennelly as Dublin senior hurling manager is expected to be named before Christmas.

It is believed that a number of candidates are in the running for the position including former selector Mick O'Riordan.

The squad, which includes talented players like Liam Ryan, Shane Martin and Conal Keaney, is already back in training under the guidance of outgoing selectors O'Riordan, JIm Galavan and Cancice Hennebry.
