Errity denies retirement claim

Birr hero Joe Errity has denied claims he plans to retire from inter-county hurling.

Full-back Errity starred in a man marking role on DJ Carey in the Leinster SHC final win over Young Ireland's on Sunday in Portlaoise.

Afterwards Birr manager Pat Joe Whelahan stated veteran Errity would not be lining out for the county side next year but Errity responded: "I haven't made any decision yet and whatever I do decide will be my own decision when the time is right.

"Who is in charge of the Offaly team doesn't come into the equation. I'll be waiting well into the new year to decide."
