Crossmolina victorious in Connacht - report

Crossmolina 1-11 Strokestown 0-10

Crossmolina captured their third Connacht SFC championship with a four point victory over Strokestown at an extremely wet and windy Hyde Park, Roscommon.

The sides were level at the break, 1-2 to 0-5. Liam Moffatt’s goal had given Crossmolina a three point lead just before the interval but Strokestown responded with three injury-time points.

In the second half, Crossmolina had the greater scoring power and were three points ahead with 20 minutes remaining.

But Strokestown, in their first final, hit back with three Luke Dolan points, forcing Crossmolina to draw on all their big match experience before finally grinding out a four point win with a late scoring surge.
