Brennan looking to upset Birr

Young Irelands boss John Brennan is looking to stem the tide of defeat against the Offaly champions Birr when they clash on Sunday.

The sides meet in the Leinster SHC final at Portlaoise and Brennan is only too aware that the Gowran side have never beaten Birr in competitive fare.

He said: "I am aware that no Kilkenny team has ever beaten Birr in the Leinster championship. But our defence has been watertight all year and we'll definitely have a cut at them."
