Kernan backs Dublin's Croker request

Armagh manager Joe Kernan has rowed in behind the Dublin suggestion that the counties' NFL fixture on February 3 be played at Croke Park.

Armagh manager Joe Kernan has rowed in behind the Dublin suggestion that the counties' NFL fixture on February 3 be played at Croke Park.

The tie is currently pencilled in for Parnell Park but with a capacity of just over 10,000, thousands of fans are set to be left high and dry.

Kernan, whose Armagh side played Dublin in last summer's All-Ireland semi-final and packed out HQ, said: "We'd be fully supportive of Dublin's suggestion.

"Admittedly, Croke Park is Dublin's backyard for championship matches, but Parnell Park is the same for league matches, so we won't be at a disadvantage if the game is played at Jones' Road."
