Harte names Tally as assistant

Newly-installed Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has named Paddy Tally as his assistant.

Harte revealed the appointment of the St Mary's College Sigerson manager at a press conference to announce his own ratification as manager.

Meanwhile, the Tyrone county board have apologised to former joint county boss Eugene McKenna who was ratified for another term himself and then discarded following partner Art McRory's decision to step down.

A statement read: "It was never our intention that this should happen. I would like to apologise in particular to Eugene McKenna and his family for the hurt and anxiety caused to them."
