Westmeath footballer has suspension reduced

A Westmeath footballer has had a three-year ban reduced to 96 weeks after striking an opponent during a match.

Ballynacargy minor Stephen Penrose was hit with the massive suspension after striking another player in a club game.

But that lengthy ban was reduced to the still severe 96-week sentence following a further investigation into the incident by the county minor board.
