Flame-haired Birr attacker Simon Whelahan believes several of the club's most successful players could be playing their last game tomorrow.

If reigning All-Ireland champions Birr fail to beat Carlow minnows St Mullins, the Offaly star believes it could be the end of aging Birr as we know it.

Ahead of the Wexford Park tie tomorrow, he said: "Lads can¹t keep going forever and I¹d be sure that some of them would be ready to call it a day if we lost against St Mullin's.

"If keeping an All-Ireland winning team together isn¹t motivation enough then I don¹t know what is."
